Desk Hero Code of Conduct
Local desks only work when hosts feel comfortable letting people in. By requesting a desk through DeskMatch, you agree to a few simple behaviours that keep the experience good for everyone.
Desk Heroes agree to:
- Behave professionally and respectfully.
- Follow reasonable host rules.
- Use only agreed areas of the workspace.
- Respect confidentiality and privacy.
- Not access host systems, documents, devices, or private areas.
- Not record, photograph, or share host information without permission.
- Keep noise and calls appropriate for the environment.
- Leave the workspace as found.
- Take responsibility for personal property and any equipment or activities.
- Describe any specialist use and equipment accurately, and agree it with the host before visiting.
- Report any concerns to DeskMatch.
Hosts may decline or cancel access if behaviour is unsuitable. Repeat issues will result in removal from DeskMatch.

Does DeskMatch insure my visit?
No. DeskMatch currently does not provide, certify, verify, or guarantee insurance for Desk Heroes, Hosts, workspaces, equipment, or activities.
Do I need my own insurance?
You are responsible for your personal property, equipment, and activities. Check and arrange suitable cover where appropriate, particularly for valuable equipment or specialist use.
What counts as specialist use?
Any activity beyond ordinary desk-based office work, such as treatment, beauty, fitness, clinical, workshop, or equipment-heavy work. Describe the activity and equipment in your request and get the Host's agreement before visiting.
